Carlos Amespil has over twenty years of extensive operating and turnaround experience in the hospitality, restaurant, and food industries. Carlos brings strategic focus, knowledge, and direction to companies facing rapid growth and diversification issues as well as those struggling with critical and complex insolvency issues. He offers expertise, experience, and industry insight in determining effective turnaround strategies.

He has served in senior management positions with such well known hospitality and restaurant companies as American Restaurant Group/Spectrum Foods, Urth Caffe Corporation, Auberge Resorts/ Piatti Restaurant Company, and Italres/ Bice. Carlos has successfully led restaurant expansion plans that included performing due diligence, feasibility studies, site selection, contract negotiations, and store openings. He has managed large scale renovations to include remodeling plans from architectural design through construction sign-off. Carlos has also implemented operating controls and performance measures that increased profitability and cash flows to successfully turnaround underperforming properties.

Carlos has also advised major hospitality firms and food processors in development of marketing plans and implementation of operational and cost control systems. These measures improved profits by 70%, average room rates 25%, and payroll reductions of 4%. His operational turnaround successes involved upgrading of management, revamping profit center venues, and improvement of guest service standards that increased revenues by 65% in two years. As chief restructuring officer, Carlos led the turnaround efforts of a leading international food processor and manufacturer and protein processing firm. He also restructured a hospitality furnishing manufacturer.

Carlos holds a bachelor of science in management from Pepperdine University, Graziadio School of Business and Management. He attended Instituto Perito Moreno, Buenos Aires, Argentina focusing in Hotel Management and Tourism. He also attended the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology China Business Program.

Carlos is a member of the California Receivers Forum. He is also trilingual, fluent in Spanish, Italian, and English.
