Howard Bailey,

Howard Bailey is a seasoned restructuring finance professional. He has over 25 years of banking and credit management that includes loan originations, underwriting, workouts, field examinations, and portfolio management. As Western Region Senior Vice President for the Restructuring Finance Group of GE Capital, he handled in and out of bankruptcy court debt recapitalizations across multiple industries. He also managed GE Capital's Corporate Lending Originations Group for the San Francisco Bay Area.  His team handled over $2 billion in portfolio loan underwriting, structuring, underwriting, approving and executing. Howard managed a team that closed over $5 billion in new loan commitments.  Further, he oversaw numerous workouts to obtain invaluable experience of the loan workout process from the perspective of financial institutions.

In addition to GE Capital, Howard obtained extensive credit and restructuring experience with Bank of America predecessors.  He has assisted middle-market companies through all stages of the business life cycle.  Howard’s background includes stints as field audit examiner and in management training.  He also managed several high profile accounts in the bank’s loan workout group during that significant credit down cycle.

Howard is an active contributor to the turnaround and restructuring industry. He serves on the executive committee and board of the Northern California Turnaround Management Association and is past chairman of the Northern California Commercial Finance Association. He has been speaker and panelist on numerous occasions, including for the Turnaround Management Association, Association for Corporate Growth, Commercial Finance Association, and American Bar Association.

Howard’s degrees include masters of business administration from Northeastern University and bachelor of science in business administration from the University of Hartford.
