Dave Stark
Business Intelligence
Dave Stark has been president of a highly respected consulting firm and has implemented Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) and Business Intelligence (BI) for over 14 years. The main objective of EPM and BI is to align actions with corporate goals by integrating information into the management process. Dave works with business users of information and IT departments to improve and automate operational data analysis, financial consolidation, forecasting and budgeting, tracking of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and management reporting. He also provides guidance to clients on evaluating opportunities for EPM and BI projects and advises on best practices. Over the years, Dave has worked with many large and mid-market companies including Toyota, Seagate Technology, Nestle, Clorox, Papa John’s International, and Gap, Inc.
Dave has been speaker on topics related to EPM and BI at several conferences and to business professional groups, such as The Business Intelligence Forum, the Los Angeles Chapter of Financial Executives International, and the Asia Business Forum. He appeared as an expert witness on behalf of plaintiffs in the WorldCom Securities Litigation trial (Federal Court, Southern District of New York), providing testimony on WorldCom’s corporate financial reporting system and its potential role in detecting accounting fraud during the company’s audit.
Over his career, Dave held increasingly responsible financial management positions including accounting and financial analyst roles at IBM and Digital Equipment Corporation, FP&A Manager at Wyse Technology, and Chief Financial Officer at an early-stage navigation technology company. He holds a bachelor of science degree in finance and international business from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania
